Tonatiuh

(1) Sun god, heaven.
(2) Was said to demand sacrifices so it could keep moving. 15,000-25,000 was the number estimated to be sacrificed each year to appease Tonatiuh.
(3) Primary source of life for warriors. Warriors are said to be charged with the duty of providing the sun with the sacrifices. There was a special sun temple alter devoted to this principle.
